Just a bit of craziness around our house to be posting...  P90X is going well.  Actually, I'm sort of doing my own version.  I do every day except Yoga (and sometimes I switch out Kempo for something else too).  I haven't gotten in the extra cardio the way I'd like to, but I'm working on it!  Trying to keep to my calories--could always use more work on that, but not doing too badly.  All in all, I'm feeling really good!  Results could be better, but I'm reminding myself that living healthy is a marathon--for the long haul--not a sprint, right?!!!  So, I want to stay dedicated and motivated!  I am planning on asking for some Tracy Anderson DVD's for my birthday!  I think it will be a nice change up, and I'm excited to try them out! Yesterday I met my good friend, and we walked 4 miles (50 minutes).  Then I came home and did "Arms and Chest" day of P90X.  Today I did the "Plyometrics" day of P90X.  Wow!  That's quite a workout!  I'm feeling good.  The scale hasn't budged, but I feel so much better and some clothes are already fitting better.  It's only been a week, so I'm trying to keep it all in perspective! I've walked, done P90X and even did some freestyle dancing...  That's right, you didn't read that wrong.  It was pretty funny, I have to say.  But it was also FUN!!!  I am also eating well which is great!  I have had a significant amount of motivation this week, and I'm praying it keeps up!  I have limited time to get the results I want, so I'm staying focused!!!  Today, my hubby and I stained the deck where we sweated off at 10 pounds a piece!!  It's SOOO hot out right now!!!  Tomorrow I may try and do some sort of workout and then Monday I'll hit it hard again!  Here's to the weekend--I &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;love &lt;/span&gt;the weekends!!! It woke me up around 3 am and wouldn't let me find my sleep again!!!  So, I totally bailed on my good friend this morning.  However, I had very good intentions for still working out today.  And guess what?  I DID!!!  I completed the plyometrics day of P90X today!  It is one of the most intense video workouts I have ever done.  So, my legs are feeling a bit like jello at this point.  But I am feeling good.  I was a bit rushed and realized I skipped right over ab work.  So, I plan to do some of that later this evening.  It feels so good to be so excited about getting back into shape.  Also, my calories have been looking pretty good for the 2nd day in a row!  That makes me feel good too!  YES!!! So, the past 7 months or so have been pretty crazy, to say the least!  First, we returned from Scotland and scrambled to find a place to live and feel settled.  Of course, all of that took place during the holidays where there is always, unfortunately, extra stress!  Then January hit and we started school--Shane started teaching, Zion started Kindergarten, and I started nursing school!!!  A new level of stress was added into my life and my good habits slowly went away, and I started putting on weight and feeling terrible.  The weight gain was slow, but it totals about 13 pounds in all.  I can hardly believe it!  And I hate even admitting it, to be honest!  So far this summer we've traveled a LOT!  My weight has stayed pretty well the same once I realized how much I was putting on.  So, I see that as a plus.  However, I have about 6 or 7 weeks before school starts again--which will bring that stress and crazy schedule again.  So, I'm trying to get myself prepared!!! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Today, I am starting again.  My goal is to lose those 13 pounds (at least), and to get myself ready for maintenance mode once school starts.  So, this morning I met a friend and we walked 4 miles, then at home I did some ab work and some hand weights.  I am planning on incorporating some of P90X into my new routine as well.  I think I'll mix and match what I do.  I am also planning on running along with walking.  I am also cutting a lot of things out of my diet.  I know I need carbs while having an intense exercise routine, but I will be careful how much.  And I'm even thinking that this fall during school, I may go totally low carb!  That seems to work for me when I'm not able to exercise as much. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: left;"&gt;So, there you have it, people!  It's a life-long path, isn't it?  One that personally I seem to sway here and there on...  But I do feel that I know my body pretty well these days. CRAZY!!!!  And to top it all off, I gained around 10 lbs. through all the craziness!!!  With the bouncing around while trying to find a place to live, then waiting to close on our house, then getting our house ready to actually &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;live &lt;/span&gt;in, then getting us all settled and used to our new (&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;crazy&lt;/span&gt;) schedule...  yep, too much fast food, stress on my body--which is 30 years old now--and all that goes with a big transition like we've had...  My body didn't take it too well... &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So, we're almost settled and seem to be in a routine these days.  So, this past week I added an early morning workout!  I intended to do 4 days--Monday, Tuesday, Thursday &amp;amp; Friday.  However, I only managed 2 days--Monday &amp;amp; Tuesday!  Which is still &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;much &lt;/span&gt;better than anything I had been doing!  So, I'm proud of that... but I truly do want to get at least 4 days a week!  I think it will help many things to start my day with a workout...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My other goal is toning down my eating habits!  Our new schedule is quite crazy and lends itself to poor eating habits--having to eat quickly or at weird times (in between classes or whatever)... So, I will have to be extra careful about all of that!  I have dropped 2 lbs. already--just from eating better foods and working 2 times. I am home....  (Sort of.)  The past few weeks we have been transitioning, once again.  We made the long trip home from Scotland.  After traveling (and being awake) for about 24 hours, we were finally back in the U.S.  Now as far as "home" goes--we are in the process!  There is an end in sight, it's just a couple weeks away.  The kiddos have been absolutely &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;amazing&lt;/span&gt; through all of this!  (Seriously, I don't know how they've done it!)  But I can say this much, we are all ready to be in our own home and getting settled.  I have gotten little intentional exercise these past few weeks, but the scale has been going down (when I check it anyway).  So, I think the stress and busyness of the season (and craziness of our transition) is keeping me going with little time for food.  Even through last weeks holiday, every time I got on the scale it said a smaller number!  CRAZY, right?! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What I really want to share today is this...  In the past few weeks, for whatever reason, I have been doing some serious thinking.  There are words that I have tried to preach to others and to myself--about having a healthy body image and seeing myself through God's eyes.  And while I have always forced myself to believe that, I can say for the first time in my life that I truly believe it!  This is huge for me.  The way I described it to my husband was this, "I feel comfortable in my skin."  I am dedicated to living a healthy lifestyle and having consistent exercise in my life.  But I also realize that I am built how I'm built, and I am happy with that!  And I also realize that according to what God has called me to, there is only so much I will be able to do as far as exercise goes at certain times--it can always be a priority, but sometimes it gets less time than at other times. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I actually think this change in mindset for me will help me enjoy and be more committed to exercise.  There will be less guilt and more commitment.  Less hate and more love for doing something good for me--instead of something I &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;have &lt;/span&gt;to do if I want to look a certain way.... &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;It's late.  And I feel like I'm rambling.  But I felt like sharing this with all of you out there who are in the same boat as me--or at least a boat nearby (if you're reading this you must be).  I hope it brings you some encouragement!  I can say that it feels wonderful to feel this confidence &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;for real.&lt;/span&gt;  I read a post earlier where a woman spoke about wanting to use her own journey to healthy living to glorify God and further His kingdom.  I have always felt the same, but even more so now.  So, that is my prayer as I close this post today. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;Lord, use me to minister to others, to bare their burdens, to encourage weary souls, to lift broken spirits. Looks to me like sticky little fingers must have gotten ahold of it.  In fact, my computer was all but spitting it out.  It was making all kinds of gurgling noises... So, I did some ab work by myself, and called it a day!  Wow, do I have big plans once I get back to the states!!!  I've been realy inspired lately to pick up running again--even though it's not my favorite, it's always a good workout, and it's especially encouraging and inspiring to work toward running in different races too!  I would also like to add in some weight lifting.  But I have to be reasonable about this, people.  I have just found out that I have been accepted into the Nursing Program and will start in January.  So, I would like to get in a good routine of &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;something&lt;/span&gt;, but like I said, I &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;have&lt;/span&gt; to be realistic as far as time and energy go.  While I know that exercising will be a great stress reliever, and should give me more (much needed) energy, I am also aware of how much time and energy balancing everything will take.  So, I do &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;not &lt;/span&gt;want to be lazy or throw "being healthy" to the back burner.... Just saying, (once again), that I have to be realistic... I can hardly believe it's November!...  But here we are...  And not only am I starting this &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;week&lt;/span&gt; out right, but I'm starting a &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;new month&lt;/span&gt; out right--with a workout!!!  It's always a good start when you get a workout, right?!... &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Pilates is going well for me.  With our schedule, limited space and resources, it is turning out to be just what I need.  Short and sweet and definitely &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;to the point!  &lt;/span&gt;Like I have mentioned in previous posts, I'm feeling and seeing results! I did get a workout on Wednesday (yesterday).  Always feels good!!  Also, over the weekend I did a &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;ton &lt;/span&gt;of walking!  On Saturday, I had the afternoon to myself to go check out the city and all the shops that aren't "stroller friendly."  So, I walked for about 4 hours.  It was raining for some of it, and I was trying to get in as much as possible--so the walking was also at a pretty good pace.  Then Sunday, my family and I visited the castle here in Edinburgh.  It was amazing!  (I will be posting a slide show soon on my family blog, if you want to check it out!)  So, we walked a lot that day too.  Then on Monday, the kids and I made our first walk together up to the Royal Mile and Shane's school.  It was the first time we've done it alone.  It's a far walk, especially pushing a stroller full of kids.  When we go with Shane, all three kids get to ride the whole time.  He's obviously much stronger than I am, and it lets us go a little faster if they're all riding.  Plus, it's busy and there are lots of people, so it's much safer that way.  However, because it's far away, there is &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;no way &lt;/span&gt;that I could push all three of them that far!  So, the 2 older ones were taking turns walking (which is good for them anyway).  It definitely made our trip take longer, but it was okay.  We had planned for it.  We went up there to meet Shane Ph.D. supervisor.  We have heard so much about Dr. Bond, that it was nice to finally meet her!  And then, of course, we had the walk back.... So, I skipped a workout at home due to time and well, I sorta got a workout walking, I felt.  So, here's to finishing up the week!!  (We have less than  3 weeks left here in Scotland! I did it!  3 workouts this week!...  Feels good.  Like I mentioned in my last post, I'm really beginning to feel a difference especially in my mid-section.  I put on some velor pants today that have a fitting waist band.  I noticed it's not as tight today!  That's &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;great!!  &lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So, it makes me happy that I'm feeling good and noticing differences even though I'm not getting the cardio I would like to be getting. I can't believe it's already the 21st of October!  How crazy!  I can't believe I've actually been getting regular exercise either!... So, there you go, huh?...  Yep, that's right.  Today I worked out.  Pilates once again.  I feel that I'm really able to tell a difference--some of my clothes are fitting better--esp. in the core area, and I can tell that I'm getting stronger too.  So, that's always nice!  I've been trying to focus on my eating--like I mentioned before.  It's been going better.  I'm at least making wiser choices when I eat.  Still eating at times when I'm not all that hungry, but I'm eating nuts or rice cakes or fruit instead of chocolate or bread and such.  So, that's a step in the right direction at least.  &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;This week&lt;/span&gt; will be the week that I get 3 workouts in, surely!! Feels good to have it done...  One thing I've decided, and I may have hinted around about it before, is that I really need to focus on my eating habits and intake.  I've created a horrible habit here in Scotland of eating at night.  I don't mean because I'm hungry... I mean because it's something I do every night--even when I'm not hungry... Even when I'm still full from dinner!!!!  Yeah, pretty bad, huh?  So, my goal right now (along with working out 3 times a week) is to watch my portions, eat when I'm hungry and eat better foods.  It's been slow in finding healthy foods--not because they aren't here in Scotland, just because things are worded differently and/or there are different things more common here that are healthier for me.  So, I believe I've found some good snacks, and I'm doing pretty good at meal times too. For whatever reason, I just didn't really want to.  We headed out to the store this morning just after breakfast--and that literally takes us &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;all&lt;/span&gt; morning!  When we got home, it was time for lunch which is immediately followed by nap time... &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Well, we did all of that, and I even got to close my eyes for a 1/2 hour or so too!  Then I got my oldest son up, we had our "school snack" and then did school together.  The other 2 kiddos gradually woke up, and it was mid-afternoon.  All of the sudden, as the kids were coloring/snacking/playing, I decided I would workout! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So, I did pilates again today.  It just seems to work for me.  Like I said, I am trying to be more focused and intense with it.  It makes me feel good that I am at least doing something consistent.  That's a good start for now. I did pilates... It felt great too!  I decided that pilates is a good move for me since, as I talked about, that's what I really want to concentrate on--my core.  And I can get as much out of it as I put into it!  I actually worked harder at it yesterday than the first day I did it.... &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Well, today is Friday, and we're not having the best day around our house today....  So, I'm sort of thinking that I may put today's workout off until tomorrow.  That way I'm still getting my 3 workouts in, but not totally stressing today!  We've had some hard nights this week--making for pretty tired days.  Lastnight was probably one of the worst... However, I do consider pushing my 3 children, which equal over 100 lbs. together, in the stroller about 12 blocks or so--to and from the store--a workout!  I think I sweat more doing that than I did doing pilates the other day.....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So, I'm thinking I'll do my best to at least do pilates tomorrow (even though it's Thursday).. and then do something Friday too. I worked out today.  I was torn this morning when I got dressed and ready to workout.  I decided instead of doing this afternoon when some of the kids were sleeping, that since they were playing so well together, I might just try and get it out of the way this morning.... Well, I put in the Kempo P90X dvd, and realized it was almost an hour long... I just didn't think I could make it an hour... or maybe I should say, I wasn't sure if the kids and I could make it an hour!!!  So, the other option was a 20 min. pilates video that I brought... Since most of the P90X workouts are close to an hour.  So, that's what I did....  It was good.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My core is what I'm really wanting to target right now....  It's funny, growing up I always felt I was a little chunky (even though looking back, I think I was actually healthy!)  Anyway, my stomach was always very flat--that's an area I never struggled with.  For some reason, when I was probably 12 or something I started doing situps every night and/or morning--&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;lots &lt;/span&gt;of them.  That always seemed to help.  Nowadays, that's my one issue!  I guess having 3 babies will do that to you, huh??... Well, at least to me... I was one who ate whatever I wanted and did very little exercise during my pregnancies.  Yep, I gained at least 40 lbs. with each pregnancy, and I think it was 60 lbs with my first (b/c I started out weighing less).&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So, here's my dilemna....  As I said, I thought working out Monday, Wednesday and Friday would be a good start for me.  And today I thought perhaps doing the pilates video would be good since I'm wanting to target my core.  However, I barely work up a sweat doing the video, and I'm not sure if that will be challenging enough....  Anyone have any thoughts??... Actually, we went about 9 months without internet.  Since January.  From January to around May I worked out on and off, here and there.  Then this summer, my husband and I started P90X.  We did it for about 5 weeks or so, then the summer got crazy, we put our house on the market and began preparations to move out of the country!  So, life took over, and I worked out less and less.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Presently, we are in Edinburgh, Scotland.  I have decided that I am ready to get back to working out on a consistent basis.... So, my plan for now is to work out 3 days a week.  Our schedule is pretty crazy right now, our flat is small, and my resources are limited.  But I do have the P90X dvd's, just not everything I need to do all of them.  There are a few that I can do, however--the kempo, yoga, cardioX, abripperX, etc.  So, my goal is to workout Monday, Wednesday and Friday each week while we're here.  Once we get back to the States and  get settled I want to start running again and work out more than 3 times a week.  But I feel that's a good start for now!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Also, I am trying to have a good perspective in all of this... I do feel that I've lost some of my tone.. well, a &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;lot &lt;/span&gt;of my tone.... but I haven't put on weight--well, maybe a couple of pounds, but not like I expect.  (Does that even make sense?)  Anyway, I am wanting to get some routine, structure, accountability, and motivation to get back into some good eating habits and some regular exercise!  That's the goal of re-boosting this blog!  (Not that anyone will check it...)  But in the chance that anyone happens upon this, I would appreciate encouragement and any advice. We traveled a LOT!!  It was fun, but we are exhausted and ended up a little sick as well....  But we're home now--just got home today!  I did workout once in the last week, and I have eaten &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;horribly!!!!  &lt;/span&gt;So, I was a bit worried to step on the scale after being gone for a week.... However, when I stepped on the scale today I was down another pound!!!  That is just amazing to me!!!  So, that is a total of 20 lbs. since starting my weight loss journey last May, and it's a total of 6 pounds in the last 2 months (or so).  It's coming off slow, but I have also not been working out as much but have tried to keep eating right.  I think my body is in a good mode.  I do hope, as 2009 starts, to get back into a consistent workout routine and to keep eating healthy!!  I'm happy with what has happened since being involved in "&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;Getting Hot for the Holidays."  &lt;/span&gt;Thanks for all the encouragement you all have given me so far!  It has meant SO much!! Isn't that what blogging is all about anyway??... I just wanted to share my exciting news!!!..... Drum roll, please......  I have lost another pound!!!  Even on the verge of beginning the once-a-month-womanly-thing, and also having had our first Christmas event--it's still true!!  I LOST ANOTHER POUND!!!!  So, that makes 5 pounds for this "Hot for the Holidays" thing!!  That's pretty good, I think... And in another day or two, I might just take off one more--who knows??.....  Another exciting thing is that I'm one pound away from having lost 20 pounds since May!!!  Even though I would like to lose 10-15 more, I am feeling GREAT right now!  Thanks to everyone who has encouraged me along in this journey.  I appreciate it, and certainly couldn't have done it without you!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And one more thing, I pray everyone out there has a blessed Christmas spending time with family and remembering the greatest, most wonderful gift any of us could ever receive--God's Son, Jesus!  Try not to get lost in the busyness and hustle and bustle of the season. Not even sure how it happened, but I'm thankful it did!  I guess I've been eating fairly well since I haven't gained any weight... Although, around Thanksgiving the scale did inch its way up.... But it's back down now...  So, my original goal was 10-15 lbs. by Christmas, wasn't it??  Hmmmmm..... Well,  I certainly wasn't expecting for my semester to get SO crazy with school that I would have no time to workout.  I wasn't expecting sickness after sickness to make sleep a rare thing either.  I'm thankful for the 4 lbs. I've lost... And let's see, I have 13 days until Christmas--I'm sure I could lose a few more!!  So, here's to the next 13 days! (Because I'm not sure that I do, entirely...)  But this week I lost 2 pounds!!!!  I mean, what in the WORLD is going on here?!!!...  Due to being sick last week, and having a pretty big weekend last weekend, I have been playing catch up ALL week long.  Therefore, I did not work out this week once again!  TERRIBLE, I know!....  But the scale continues to drop for me... My only fear is that I'm just losing muscle right now and not really pounds.  Anyone have any insight into this?  My wonderful hubby doesn't think it would go that fast, but I'm really not sure! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;At least the pounds are dropping, right?... My plan for next week is to get back on track with working out!!!  And, of course, continue to eat right!  That seems to be working well for me right now!... I'm trying to remind myself that holidays are quickly approaching--which means LOTS of junk food and &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;very&lt;/span&gt; busy schedules that do not usually include working out! But I lost another pound!!!!  And guess what?  I didn't work out ONE TIME this week.  Nope.  Not even ONCE!!!!  But this loss of poundage did not come without some great difficulty, I must say....  Me and my whole family have been sick ALL WEEK!!!  Actually, today, Friday, has been the first day all week that we all feel &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;good.&lt;/span&gt;  I usually don't lose weight when I get sick.  I can remember being severely sick--throwing up and the works--for a few days and not losing any weight!!  However, I'm in &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;much &lt;/span&gt;better shape today than I've been in for a long time!!!  So, while I more than HATED being sick this week, it was at least nice to lose a pound out of the whole ordeal!... So, the hubby and kiddos are all feeling better and so am I!!!  Praise the Lord!!!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Next week I should be back to normal (hopefully) and working out and eating right!!! It's Friday, once again!....  This week, for me, started out &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;great!!!&lt;/span&gt;  However, it quickly dwindled to little sleep, poor cranky baby who's getting &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;two molars at the same stinkin' time!!!!!&lt;/span&gt;  Monday and Tuesday I got in two good workouts!  And all week long, I've been doing good with my diet.  (There were a few days when I ate more junk than I normally would--I think my body was anticipating that normal "monthly" thing and wanted to act out!!)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Over all, I still feel this week was a success.  I only got two workouts (although the week is NOT over, let's remember!)  But my diet continues to be good, and the best news of all--I LOST A POUND!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  It's nice to see all of this paying off again!  Due to the season my family and I are in right now, it has been more and more difficult to stick to a good workout routine--our schedule completely changed once school started!  So, now that I'm determined to get back into a good routine, it's once again paying off!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Even though I wasn't able to meet all my goals for this week, it was still a good one! And I read through it, and literally thought, "Yeah right!... I could &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;not &lt;/span&gt;do this!"  For one, I am so inexperienced in the gym that I had no idea what most of the exercises were and was even more clueless as far as the equipment she was speaking of.  Well, now that I've gotten a &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;lot &lt;/span&gt;more confident, and also have since realized (as my husband often tells me) &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;no one in the gym really knows what they're doing!  Plus, the ones that do aren't paying attention to you!&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;On that note, I decided I need to step things up a notch....  So, I broke the book back out!  Well, I didn't go to a gym, so I had no reason to feel intimidated anyway.  But the workouts themselves are pretty intense and can seem overwhelming.  Today I did Day 1.  It went pretty good....  I did have to cut out a few things on Circuit 3 because of time.  But overall, I was able to do most of the exercises, making adjustments due to space and/or access to equipment.  I will admit I couldn't do the exercises the way I'm sure Jillian would approve of, but I'll get there!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;My friend Sarah at &lt;a href="http://www.allpain-nogain.blogspot.com/"&gt;All Pain~No Gain&lt;/a&gt; has done these book workouts several times through! So, I'm trying to decide what I'm going to do..... &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Eating today has been good.  I have allowed some frequent chocolate into my diet lately, but have been keeping tabs on my calories--so, it works! I got on the scale this morning and sure enough--I lost a pound!!!!  WHAT?!!!!!!!!!!  I mean, I have &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;not &lt;/span&gt;been faithfully working out, but I will say I've done pretty good as far as eating goes...  I guess when you chase three little ones around, you get some sort of workout, huh??... &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I am planning to post about a workout this afternoon.  Now, for any faithful readers out there, you may be wondering how that is going to happen!  If I don't get a morning workout on Monday, I usually don't get one... Well, today, I just decided my whole afternoon was going to be devoted to working out.. &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;before class!!!  &lt;/span&gt;The kids are ALL taking naps today, so it should be able to happen.  Hopefully I will have a positive post later today! Let me start with the positives though... I did get my exercise ball out and got two workouts in with that!  And I was more conscious with my diet this week than last week.  So, that was &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;positive&lt;/span&gt;....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;However, the two ball workouts were the &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;only &lt;/span&gt;workouts I got in this week!!  I have been exhausted, my hubby's been sick and things have just been a bit crazy!!  So, I'm still not gaining weight, but I need to get back in my routine!  I think one reason I've been so tired is due to not working out regularly like I was used to!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Here are my goals for next week:  At least 4 workouts, including cardio and strength training.  Paying close attention to my diet, and NO MORE EXCUSES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I'm sick of having nothing to blog about and always having an excuse when I do!!  So, here's to a new start! Something New!</title><content type='html'>So, my bday was a couple of weeks ago, and I told my hubby I would &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;love &lt;/span&gt;some new workout "stuff."  So, he and the kiddos got me a few things, one being an exercise ball!  I had yet to pull it out and use it, but today I did!  It was a pretty good workout.  It was nothing like a cardio workout, but I worked lots of muscle groups.  The ball came with an exercise chart, and I did several of the exercises.  However, there were a few I didn't like, but I also added in a couple I've done before.  (And I think I might have made a couple up too!) &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;All in all, it was a good workout!  I'm really wanting to get some good cardio in this week on top of doing toning work--like the exercise ball!  There are 4 days left in the week--it's possible!!  I've been doing pretty good with my diet too!  Hopefully, getting back to routine workouts will help that scale to start dropping again!  And help me get into some of my "even older clothes!"  (Yeah, you know, the ones I've been saving since I got married--when I was SO thin!!!)  Surely those clothes are out of style now... I guess I don't care! Sounds fun, eh??...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Well, as some of you are aware from my previous posts (or lack there of), I have gotten myself into quite a lull with my workouts these days! Let me tell my story for any new readers....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Last September, on a very hot day, I had child #3. He was beautiful and perfect, and as all my children have, left me with plenty of jiggles and fitting into a size pants I do NOT want to mention! We were in the process of moving across the state of Missouri, so I wasn't too concerned with getting fit &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;yet.&lt;/span&gt; However, especially in knowing this would be the last time I got pregnant, I was excited and determined to get the weight off and get healthy again! (I had done pretty well after my first, but horrible after my second! So, with the third I started out much heavier!) Anyway, once we finally got moved and things settled down a bit, I began working out at home which was going pretty well. Then we were able to attain a Y membership where I started frequenting as much as I could. I &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;very slowly &lt;/span&gt;began to tell a difference in my clothes and dropped a pant size, which was a great encouragement! But after about 5 months of the same thing and the weight not coming off like I wanted, I knew I needed to step it up a notch (or two, or maybe 10!!!) So, I was able to start a workout routine with my sweet sister-in-law this past summer.&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We started working out together at the end of May/early June. I had not incorporated strength training into my workouts, though I had wanted to. (It was overwhelming for me!) So, my sis-in-law, being the workout queen that she is, had us doing all kinds of wonderful workouts! She kicked my butt, to be honest! And I &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;loved &lt;/span&gt;it!!!  Over the summer my body changed SO much! The weight wasn't coming off like I wanted, but I knew most of that was due to the fact that I was gaining so much muscle and toning my body. Then, all of the sudden, in mid August I realized I had lost 13 lbs.!!! Since then, I've only lost one more pound.  So, my total is 14 lbs. so far.  And this month--October--has been incredibly difficult for me!!! We've had a crazy busy schedule, and I have had little energy to workout. I have been trying to watch my diet--I really don't like that word because it's really a lifestyle for me! The one positive thing in all of this is that I haven't gained anything! I have maintained even though the last three weeks have been &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;very &lt;/span&gt;slow as far as workouts go!... (And last week I didn't workout ONCE!)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;What I have loved the most through all of this has been pushing my body and seeing it grow, strengthen and do things I never knew were possible!! I know that my time is limited at this moment in my life, but I can still push myself in the little time I do have. That's my problem right now. I'm lacking the motivation and energy to push myself! It was amazing having a workout partner all summer--I could &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;never &lt;/span&gt;have done it without her! (I picked her up every morning around 5am!!! That is stinkin' EARLY!!) I'm hoping joining this group will generate some more accountability and motivation for me!! Thanks everyone!!! I'm in need of some encouragement!!!!!!!...  The past couple of weeks have been &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;crazy &lt;/span&gt;for me and my family!  With hubby being gone for 10 days, I knew that would throw my workouts off--not being able to go to the Y, etc.  But I didn't know it would cut them out almost completely!  I was SO tired, and I kept myself SO busy and distracted while he was gone that I barely got in any workouts last week!  He arrived home late Sat. night, and started getting sick the next morning!  He has the full blown flu now!!  So, today has been crazier than normal, and tomorrow I will &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;not &lt;/span&gt;be going to the Y.  But tomorrow I am determined to get in a workout at home--no excuses!!  But some encouragement would be nice!:)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;In my weigh ins (which I am reluctant to share, for what reason I can't quite put my finger on) I have stayed the same.  It has made me happy that my body is working while my mind has been absent!!  Plus, I had a birthday which meant some extra sweets--cake, etc.  And also, I got a Starbucks gift card--&lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;lots &lt;/span&gt;of calories in those awesome little drinks they serve there!!!  So, my body has kept up with all of that without putting any extra weight on!... I did make myself a short term goal.  I would like to lose between 10-15 lbs by the end of the year!  I would be nearly to my goal weight at that point!  I do think this is possible, if I will buckle down and stay focused!!!  So, one short term goal I made myself was this--I do not get a Starbucks coffee until I lose 5 more pounds!  I'm hoping to do that in a few weeks!... I'll keep you posted on how that goes....  The short term goals really seem to help me out!  So, I'll definitely be announcing when I go get me a Starbucks drink again!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Thanks in advance for the encouragement!! I did 40 minutes of taebo!  It was pretty good... I've really tried to watch my diet today!  I let myself have a LOT of sweets, and in the past week I've been out to eat a few times--to my fav restaurant in Joplin where I typically stuff myself with too many chips before my food even arrives!  So, I've been wanting to get back on track--watching portions and intake of better calories instead of empty ones! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Breakfast: bowl of multigrain flakes and toasted oats w/ skim milk = 190 calories&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Lunch = turkey, provolone, lettuce on two toasted whole wheat pieces of bread w/ spray 'i can't believe it's not butter' and garlic powder = 270 calories&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm on my 2nd liter of water today!  Oh, and yesterday I visited Strabucks (mmmm...good!) and they messed up my drink--gave me a tall instead of a grande.  So, they let me keep both drinks!  Cool!!  So, I am planning on having that drink this afternoon sometime....  I was saving it for &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;after&lt;/span&gt; I did my workout!  A little treat... It's mostly due to the fact that the last week or more has been simply CRAZY around here!  I had a birthday, my husband left the country, we had visitors over the weekend (with some unexpected extras as a sweet and wonderful surprise!!!)... All that to say, it has been busy.  I haven't been doing the best w/ my diet, and I only got in one intentional workout last week!  (I say that because there were a few days when just the course of the day felt like a workout to me!)  Nevertheless, this week I'm determined to get back on a schedule.  Since hubby is MIA, I will not be going to the Y.  But I have plenty to do at home!  I received some hand weights and a new exercise ball that I need to try out!!!  So, my plan is to get at least three workouts in this week!!  Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.  Monday and Wednesdays are hard for me unless I get up early (which is definitely hard without my workout partner!!)  I may try to throw in a workout on Saturday too--hubby comes home that day, so we'll see...  So, there's my plan for the week....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So far today I've had a bowl of cereal--about 200 calories.  I think I'll get back to posting a food journal--it's nice accountability! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;To all who have been disappointed at my lack of posts, I do apologize.... Well, yesterday, I did get a workout in--30 minute taebo workout and 20 minute pilates/yoga workout!  So, to unveil the mystery of my post title....  I typically do the taebo workouts in my bedroom (since that is where the VCR is).  So, upon beginning the workout, I realized I was "crunching" something on the floor.  And wouldn't you know, it was a bunch of cheerios from my one year old!!!  Now, I apologize if this fact about myself disgusts you, but I do &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;not &lt;/span&gt;vacuum my house every day!  I hope my mom doesn't read this, she might be really disappointed in me!  (Although, I'm sure she knows this about me already....:)  Anyway, just so you know, I picked up all I could see, but still have yet to vacuum!!  Vacuuming is (obviously) my &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;least&lt;/span&gt; favorite cleaning ritual....  I had to laugh since every few times I picked my feet up, upon placing them back down on the floor I'd hear a &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;crunch&lt;/span&gt;! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm not posting a food journal for Friday.... I've barely posted any this week!... So, next week I'll get back to posting food journals each day...  My hubby is leaving for 10 days come next Wednesday.  So, my workouts will be at home for that week and 1/2. It seems that with all I have going on, I do better when I stick to a routine of some sort!  Well, that routine was a little out of whack this week!  So, my workouts got cut out!  I tried to do my best with eating healthy, but I'm not going to get upset about missing some workouts!  My good friend over at &lt;a style="color: rgb(255, 102, 102);" href="http://www.allpain-nogain.blogspot.com"&gt;All Pain~No Gain&lt;/a&gt; had a great post today that really spoke to me!.. She said something like this, it's good to be healthy and take care of the bodies God gave us, but to be obsessed and to sacrifice other things (like family, for instance) is &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;not &lt;/span&gt;what the point of all this is!!!!...  So, in order to be faithful to what God has called me to at this time in my life--being wife &amp;amp; mommy and going to school--I will sometimes (as I already have) take days off that aren't scheduled and will &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;not &lt;/span&gt;feel guilty for it!  I will still be posting, of course, and will do my best to get my workouts in and definitely eat healthy! Cake, pizza, mexican food, and all kinds of goodies that I typically try to steer clear of--at least in large portions and &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;not &lt;/span&gt;for several days in a row!!!  I did get a leisurely walk in on Saturday with the fam prior to the big birthday party for my (now) one year old!!!  However, I did &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;not &lt;/span&gt;get a workout in on Monday.  I was just too tired Sunday night after a full weekend, and I thought it best to sleep a couple of extra hours rather than workout.  Mondays are somewhat busy, so I was unable to even get to a post (especially since I didn't have much to post about!)  Today has been back to normal!  I went to the Y this morning... yep, I made it.  Barely.  I went, but had a really hard time pushing myself this morning!  I was on the treadmill for 40 minutes, did a 5k, but walked about 1/2 of it, I think!  I kinda felt like I was taking 10 steps back when I had to walk!  But I will take it all in stride (pun intended...)  Friday at the Y, I will do my best to RUN a complete 5k!!  For some positive news, last week I weighed in and lost another pound!  How exciting!!!  So, that's 14 lbs. total since I've started journaling!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: left;"&gt;One more positive thing... Despite the terrible picture, these are a pair of jeans I haven't fit into since after my firstborn!  I have a ways to go, but getting there! I will have to work to not go over since I have about 320 left!  The bummer is that these calories I've eaten so far are not necessarily the best for me either!  The afternoon snack really got me today!  I just got hungry and ate what was right in front of me. It turned into a pretty busy day!  I didn't do too bad with my diet yesterday, but it wasn't one of my best days!...  I won't post my food journal for Wednesday only because I'm not even sure I remember everything, and I know there were a couple of things I didn't have calorie information for... blah, blah, blah.... So, let's just call today a NEW DAY!!:) &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Today has been a bit of a crazy day so far!  But I &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;did &lt;/span&gt;get a workout in!!  And I've also done pretty good with my diet so far....  So, my workout today went something like this... I had the kids all set up and occupied this afternoon since I didn't get a workout in while they were "napping."  Well, being the adorable and curious kids that they are I certainly couldn't get a 40 minute workout in without a few interruptions!  But no big deal, I still completed 40 minutes of the advanced taebo workout, even if every time I got my heart rate up, I had to stop it to refill a drink or accommodate one of my sweet children!!!  They are my joy--so, I'm happy to do it!  I just think it's funny how sometimes they pay no attention to me until I seem to be occupied with something else....:) &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Anyway, today's food journal so far:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Breakfast: small bowl of multigrain flakes and toasted oats mixed with skim milk, then a small bowl of fruit loops (I couldn't help myself this morning!...) = 250 calories&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Snack: fruit snacks = 100 calories&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Lunch: 2 tblsp. peanut butter w/ 18 pretzels = 300 calories&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm almost done with my 3rd liter of water.  So, I will most likely drink 4, maybe 5 by the end of today.  I'm having some pasta and whole wheat toast and steamed veggies for dinner.  Then, as has become my routine, I will most likely polish off the day with a cup of hot chocolate and cool whip!.... I haven't calculated all those calories yet, but I will probably post tonight or tomorrow about it!... &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;P.S. I need to poise myself for this weekend.  My youngest is turning one and we will be having family in and doing some celebrating!!!  I don't want to live a life where I never eat anything chocolate or sweet (which obviously I don't anyway!)... So, I'm not at all afraid of having the sweets!  I just want to do my best to stick to my allotted calories so I can stay on track!  The weekends are usually harder anyway, but especially when there is a special occasion!  So, I will be doing my best to make room for the sweets!  And I may even try to get some sort of workout in this weekend--even if it's a walk or something! After not going at all last week (and only getting two workouts in) it was pretty difficult getting up this morning!  (Not that it's ever all that easy....)  It was truly a battle of the will.... &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;Everything &lt;/span&gt;inside of me was saying "GO BACK TO BED!!!" But praise the Lord for friends and accountability!!  So, I ran a very &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;slow&lt;/span&gt; 5k, but I finished it!  Then, of course, we finished the workout with some ab work!  After the workout was over, I was SO thankful we made it this morning!!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Food Journal:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Breakfast: 2 pieces of french toast (earlier posted recipe) = 210 calories&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Mid-morning snack: Pretzels = 50 calories&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Lunch: 2 eggs and one piece of whole wheat toast = 210 calories&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I've had a few bites of my son's popcorn (made w/ olive oil). Does anyone else feel that way today??...  So, the Y was a no-go this morning.  Alexis and I both had &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;lots &lt;/span&gt;of studying to do lastnight, so we canceled!  But I decided I still needed to try and get a workout in today!!!  So, this morning, after dropping my oldest off at preschool, I came back home, did my &lt;a href="http://www.womenseekinghim.blogspot.com"&gt;Bible Study&lt;/a&gt;, and then did a 40 minute taebo workout with some ab work afterward! So, I also had a small bowl of multigrain and toasted oats cereal mixed with skim milk.  Both of these snacks = 240 calories&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Dinner: 1 cup whole wheat pasta, 1/2 chicken breast, 2 pieces of french bread, and 1 cup steamed broccoli = 470 calories&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Late night: I met a friend for coffee at Starbucks and had a grande white peppermint mocha (my absolute favorite!)  I have &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;no &lt;/span&gt;idea how many calories... or should I say, I purposefully did &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;not &lt;/span&gt;check into it!!  But my total calories after dinner was 1160, so I definitely had the room for such a treat! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Friday:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;We've had sort of a rough week!  My oldest was sick a lot of the week and my youngest and husband were as well!....  So, this morning, after a long night with my baby up coughing, I canceled going to the Y.  And today, there were just other things that were a priority over working out!  So, I'll just post my food journal so far:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Breakfast: bowl of multigrain flakes and toasted oats mixed with skim milk and one piece of whole wheat toast w/ cinnamon and splenda = 220 calories&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Lunch: chicken breast and one piece of whole wheat bread and some steamed broccoli = 320&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;That's it so far today!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I just want to say, that I actually feel good about this week, despite the fact that I only got in two workouts!  That's just how it goes sometimes....  But I had a &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;lot&lt;/span&gt; more control over my eating than I have in previous weeks.  So, I feel good about that! It's actually kinda nice right in the middle of the week, since our weeks are now much more packed than they have been!  We are unable to make it to the Y in the a.m. and the rest of the day is too busy for a workout!  So, that's the story for Wednesday.... I had also started (and didn't stick with it) making a food journal each day!  My friend, &lt;a href="http://www.allpain-nogain.blogspot.com/"&gt;Sarah, &lt;/a&gt;has been keeping a food journal on her blog very well, and it has encouraged me to get back to it!  Also, I really need to pay attention to my calories--hopefully this will help!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Food Journal For Wednesday:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Breakfast: bowl of multigrain flakes and grapenuts (generic) mixed w/ skim milk and cup of coffee with regular creamer and splenda = 330 calories&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Lunch: 2 tbs. peanut butter w/ 27 pretzels = 350 calories&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Snack: yoplait light (key lime pie!!) yogurt = 100 calories&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Dinner: turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread w/ one slice of provolone cheese, lettuce and light miracle whip, 18 pretzels, tea sweetened w/ splenda = 420 calories&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Late night: cup of hot chocolate and a few marshmallows = (I didn't keep very good track of this one, but I'm afraid it was probably around 300 calories!!!  And I also didn't realize this put me &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;over &lt;/span&gt;my limit for calories!!  UGH!!!!...)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;Thursday:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Today has been a good day so far!!  It's 1pm, and my workout is &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;done &lt;/span&gt;already!!!  Since I haven't posted pics in a while, I thought I would today.  And I will also post my food journal so far for today! It's already Tuesday too!  Yesterday ended up being a crazy day full of things I wasn't expecting.  It all started when my son woke up with a fever and had to stay home from school.  It through us off a little, but no big deal...  We stayed home and we were all able to rest.  All three of my kids took a nap!!!  (That rarely happens.....)  Since everyone was sleeping, I got a burst of energy and decided to get some homework done.  Now, normally Monday is a Y day for me, but Sunday evening I wasn't feeling all that well so I canceled ahead of time.  I was feeling better Monday when I woke up, but it still worked out best.  My workout partner was up late Sunday night studying for a test anyway!  So, needless to say, no workout yesterday!  Then this morning I had the sweetest message!!!  Alexis canceled going to the Y!!!!  I was dead tired and did &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;not &lt;/span&gt;want to go the Y this morning!  So, I was thrilled!!!  This afternoon, despite the fact I still didn't want to workout, I knew I needed to get going this week!  So, I did two 20 minute pilates/yoga workouts.  It was worth it!  I felt great after doing the workouts!  Then the kids and I went for a walk too!!! Anyway, I was thinking back over these past several months since I started this journey, and it hit me!!!  I have definitely had &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;success&lt;/span&gt;!!!!  I don't always have this perspective because I don't always see results and I certainly am too hard on myself at times.  But while I was running a 5k and shaved another minute off my time, I thought, "Wow!  A few months ago I couldn't even run a whole 5k!!"  And that to me is success!  I'm getting somewhere--getting stronger, leaner and losing weight!  Isn't that what this is all about??....  Getting my body back to it's healthiest state?? You may remember a few weeks ago when I shaved 30 seconds off, running the 5k in 33.5 minutes.... Well, today I ran it in 32.5 minutes!!  It's nice be reminded of these things sometimes...  I get a little overwhelmed when I think of how far I still have to go!  Because you know what?  I'M TIRED!!!!...  But when I look back and see how far I've come, it gives me confidence and motivation to keep pressing on!...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Isn't life like this??....  For anyone who may not know, my husband and I have the privilege of being in the ministry--serving Jesus Christ!!!  Often we find ourselves worn out, frustrated, questioning what we're doing, &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;tired&lt;/span&gt;, and even wrestling with quitting.... but when we reflect on how far God has brought us and all that we've seen him do in our lives and in the lives of SO many, the flame is reignited to press on and "run the race," as Paul encourages us to do!  So, for anyone out there who is struggling right now--in a relationship, in ministry, in your every day routine, even in working out!--I pray this encourages you today! It's kind of a crazy day for me!  Alexis and I can't go to the Y in the morning, and then between Z's school and my class just a couple of hours afterward, it's really hard to get a work out in!...  But usually I take that day off anyway.  It's just that since I took  Monday off, I wanted to try and get another workout in this week... Oh well....  Today has been a much better day as far as eating goes for me!  And I did do a 20 minutes pilates video!  I had planned on doing more of a workout than that, but as the day worked itself out, it just wasn't possible!....  I do need to share this story...  So, here goes....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Okay, this morning around 9:30 am we headed into town to go to Wal-Mart.  I know, some of you probably hate Wal-Mart, but please don't judge me for &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;loving &lt;/span&gt;it!!!  Anyway, it's been cold and dreary here the past couple of days, so we were trying to get out of the car into a hopefully dry cart, and into the store as quickly as possible!  So, all three of the kiddos were out of the car, my daughter was in the large part of the cart, so I grabbed my purse (keys inside!) and threw it back into the car to grab the baby.  While all this was happening, my oldest hopped out and was standing right next to me while I was getting the baby buckled safely into the cart.  Before I even knew what was happening, sure enough, as you've probably guessed, my adorable son shut the door!  Which, of course, was already locked...purse inside... keys inside....  So, I let out a small cry, then sighed with my hands covering my face.... And decided we had to head inside where it was dry, warm and there would hopefully be a phone I could use!  (Because, yes, my phone was in my purse as well!)  So, we headed inside, and the sweet service desk lady let me use her personal cell phone to try and call my husband who was not quite out of class yet.... So, I called the school where a very sweet lady tried &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;very &lt;/span&gt;hard to help me out!...  As it was, hubby was tied up for a while having NO idea the tragedy we were having... I couldn't fill up the cart, because I was going to have to leave the store to get my purse and wallet!  Plus, anything cold would have had to wait not knowing how long all this would take!  So, to say the least, roughly 2 hours later, daddy finally came to the rescue of some VERY hungry babies and a worn out mama!!!  But since we were at the store, we went ahead and grabbed a few things!  All this to say, by the time we got home.... working out was not exactly what I had in mind!  However, after some lunch and a little chill time, I wanted to do &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;something!&lt;/span&gt;... Back At It!!!</title><content type='html'>So, today we were back at it this morning (too early, if you ask me!)... And even though neither one of us wanted to, in fact, we both almost called it off, we went and had a good workout!  Alexis is training for a  1/2 marathon on November... I considered doing the same, but I just can't commit to that right now.  We're (most likely) going to do a 5k this Saturday and hopefully a few more this year as well!...  My foot was feeling weird this morning, so I steered clear of the treadmill so as to not aggravate it anymore!  I hopped on the eliptical machine and did 35 minutes of interval training--the "weight loss" program on the machine.  It was a tough, good workout!  I was dripping with sweat and burned 450 calories!!!  Then we did a nice, tough ab workout as well!...  So, good day, and as usual, I'm SO glad I went!!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Something else I wanted to post about today was this.... I have trouble, as you regular readers know, with eating good, filling foods, and sometimes I have trouble with just making good choices!  Well, this morning, because we haven't received a paycheck for this month yet and last months grocery envelope is empty, I had to get a little creative for breakfast!  I have never made french toast before (I know, pathetic, right?).  But I figured I had eggs, bread and milk... and what else do you need??...  I looked up a recipe real quick online to make sure and then made a pretty healthy little breakfast!....  Here's what I did:&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Whole wheat bread dipped in eggs (with milk, if you like).  Heat a skillet and grill the bread dipped in egg mixture.  After flipping a time or two, add cinnamon and splenda mixture to both sides and grill a little more.  Now, I added syrup for my kids, but if you leave that off, it's a pretty healthy breakfast really!...  I suppose you may be able to find some sort of light syrup, if you can't live without it!  But I thought it tasted pretty good without syrup--(just don't try it &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;with&lt;/span&gt; syrup or else you'll realize the difference!:)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I just wanted to share this recipe with you all!  I have found, when trying to eat healthy, that I tend to get stuck in a rut.  But there are SO many healthy recipes and foods out there! Ha!!</title><content type='html'>Well, it certainly was &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;not &lt;/span&gt;a "labor day" for me!!!....  As you may have guessed, I did not work out today!... Well, unless of course, you consider pushing my daughter on the swing, playing bad mitten with my husband and son or filling up the pool so the kiddos can swim....  (Nah, that's no workout!)  And this past weekend was doubly bad for me diet-wise!  My husband graduated with two Masters degrees back in May, but because of a &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;very &lt;/span&gt;busy summer, we held off on having a celebration bash until this weekend!  So, with family and friends and LOTS of junk food, we celebrated!!  But I am delighted to tell you that I weighed in this evening (not even first thing in the morning!) and I didn't gain any weight!  In fact, I weighed in at the 13 lbs. lost I posted a couple of weeks ago!  (Yep, haven't lost any since then!)  But I was hovering just a little above that after posting it!  So, it was nice to see (even after a junk food weekend) that I was back in it!!!...  I'm going to do my best to use that as motivation to &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;&lt;span style="font-weight: bold;"&gt;keep working hard!!!!!  &lt;/span&gt;&lt;/span&gt;Tomorrow will be a Y day and than Wednesday will be a workout at home day--well, most likely it will be since today was an off day for me!  We'll see how it goes... Wednesday is a pretty busy day for me, and since I'm unable to go to the Y in the a.m., it makes it pretty hard to fit in a workout.  But I'll do my best!!! So, anyway, today was a pretty light day for me!  I played outside with the kiddos this morning, did some school stuff this afternoon, and realized I still needed to workout!!  So, I did one 20 minute pilates video!...  Better than nothing, right?...  I'm glad tomorrow we'll be back at the Y!!!.....  This weekend we're having family in town and a graduation party for my wonderful hubby!  I'll have to watch extra careful to &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;not &lt;/span&gt;overeat or allow myself to eat too many of the horribly unhealthy food I'm sure we'll have around!  What would a party be without some junk food, right?!!....  I'll let you know how I did....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Today's diet....  Well, it hasn't been too bad... Breakfast: bowl of kashi go lean and multigrain flakes mixed with skim milk and one piece of whole wheat toast w/ splenda and cinnamon on it.  (I was hungry this morning!)  Lunch: Turkey sandwich on whole wheat bread w/ light miracle whip and a couple small slices of cheddar cheese on the side.  Unfortunately, I ate two of my kid's fish sticks they were having for lunch!  (No, I did NOT steal them!  They were left over....)  I had a spoonful of PB this afternoon, and just a few minutes ago mixed a little more PB w/ a chocolate wafer from Japan!  (Am I even watching what I'm eating??!!...)  I seem to have some form of chocolate or something unhealthy every day!  And again, I know this wouldn't be all that bad, except I'm not keeping very close tabs on my calorie count for the day!... So, I'm really not sure...  Anyway, I feel that I'm doing better but have room for improvement for sure!!!...  Tonight we're having eggs and toast (whole wheat, of course) for dinner. I typically like to try and work out every day of the week, but with my schedule these days, it's nice having a day off!  I think it will help me to not get burnt out!!!  So, here's my food journal for today....  (It's not that great, I'll just let you know up front!...)  For breakfast: bowl of kashi go lean and multigrain flakes cereal w/ skim milk, coffee and water.  Another cup of coffee in mid-morning.  Then for lunch: a bowl of grapenuts and multigrain flakes cereal w/ skim milk.  Then for an afternoon snack I had a cup of light key lime pie yogurt (it's awesome!).  I had two different chocolate things today (what is my problem with chocolate these days?!...)  First a chocolate wafer "thing" from Japan (thank you, Kacie!)  Then a snickers bar after class!  I was SO hungry, it was the lesser of &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;all &lt;/span&gt;the evils staring at me in the store!!!!....  Then for dinner, a turkey sandwich and some bbq chips....  So, I know that having some not so good choices--like chocolate, etc.--is not the worse thing, but my problem is right now I'm &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;not &lt;/span&gt;watching my calories very well!!  So, I really don't know how they're fitting in and how much I'm going over what I need to continue losing weight....  So, I really need to just buckle down, get a little more disciplined and make room for chocolate treats!!!...  I desperately do NOT want to backslide at this point!!  So, hopefully that will be my motivation!! A protein shake in the afternoon--around 2pm, I think.  Then a bowl of cereal around 4pm (multigrain flakes mixed with grape nuts).  Then a grilled chicken salad for dinner.  I just finished 3/4 cup of almond vanilla tea w/ splenda and skim milk in it.  I did have a bite of some Norwegian chocolate too!!...  So, there it is...  My usual problem is finding things that aren't too high in calorie but will fill me up!  I tend to get especially hungry in the stretch between lunch and dinner...  I have a hard time before bed--chocolate on the brain usually!  But it's usually &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;not &lt;/span&gt;because I'm actually hungry, just wanting to munch or something--so, that needs to be just changing a habit! But I kept reminding myself that my tiredness has not &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;even &lt;/span&gt;begun!!  There is no way I could bail on a day like today!  I need to save those "bails" for a later date in the semester, when I'm truly tired!!!....  Alexis is actually feeling the same way as she's now officially started the nursing program at MSSU!!!  She's still getting used to her schedule and it's a little overwhelming right now!... Anyway, we made it this morning!  I ran a 5k again!!  I shaved another 30 seconds off my time this morning!!  I decided I needed to push myself this morning and was glad I did....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Now, I have some major confessing to do...  My diet has been &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;out of control&lt;/span&gt; lately!!  And when I say &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;out of control&lt;/span&gt;, seriously, I mean it!!!  It's like this... I make cookies to celebrate or when having guests for dinner, and I eat not one or even two.  No, I eat 5 or 8!!!!  Yep, I'm serious!  In fact, I did this lastnight!!!  And this morning, when I woke up, my stomach was aching!!  Not to mention, the scale is being &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;really &lt;/span&gt;mean to me right now!!  So, my previous post about losing 13 lbs. doesn't mean as much now!...  Anyway, I wanted to confess this so that I could have some accountability about it!...  I was thinking of posting what I eat each day on the blog!... Maybe that will help me actually pay attention and think through my food choices.  Feel free to give me suggestions if you notice something that might possibly be hurting me and my healthy, weight loss efforts!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So far today.....  1 slice of whole wheat bread w/ peanut butter before working out.  A bowl of kashi go lean &amp;amp; multigrain flakes mixed w/ skim milk and some coffee w/ creamer and splenda.  For lunch, I had a peanut butter &amp;amp; honey sandwich (we had a picnic at the park!) and &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;one &lt;/span&gt;chocolate chip cookie (now they're GONE!).  I'm working on my 2nd full 32 oz. nalgene water bottle for the day!  Hope to finish it and get one more in!  That would be 96 oz. of water today!  I may have a snack this afternoon and then eat dinner tonight.... And it all started this morning at 4:45 am, when my alarm went off!!!  Then to the Y with Alexis for a great workout!  If you've noticed, it's been quite some time since I've run on the treadmill!!  We've been doing other workouts as of late, and though they've been good, it's been a while since I've had a really, really good sweat!!  (Doesn't that sound GROSS??!!)  But seriously, when you're working THIS hard, it's nice to have a good sweat--makes me feel like I'm &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;really &lt;/span&gt;working hard!  (Anyone out there know what I'm saying??!...)  So, today we ran... Yep, I was quite surprised that I could still do a 5k!!!  Not to mention, I think I may have done my fastest time yet (which is incredibly SLOW for most).  I ran it in 33.5 minutes!!!  I was thrilled to have ran that far and that fast after having gone some time without running!  So, it feels good to have started this &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;craziness&lt;/span&gt; with a good workout!!!  And of course, as usual, we finished up with some ab work!!  Tomorrow we'll be going to the Y again, then have two days to ourselves, and finish the week (Friday) at the Y again!... I did a 30 minute taebo workout along with a 20 minute pilates/yoga workout!...  It was good!  I really didn't want to, but knew that I would be taking the weekend off and wanted to keep things going!....  I'm anticipating &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;craziness&lt;/span&gt; in my life beginning TOMORROW!!  I start classes!  I'm thankful my son started preschool last week, so we could get used to his schedule first.  Now, we'll have to add in my schedule--8 hours of class each week as well!...  (Not to mention study time!)  So, working will be a priority, just not my first...or second...or third right now..... More like, fifth or sixth, probably!  But I do think it's I can fit in a few workouts a week, and I think it will be worth it for me to make it happen!!!  You know, an energy booster and a release for me!... I have a feeling my kiddos will remember our VCR and the VHS videos the way I remember my dad's 8-tracks!!!!  Soon here, they will be totally non-existent, and a thing of the past!...  (I'm not sure if my dad ever looks at this, but I will have to poke a little fun at him anyway--he totally still calls any recorded music a TAPE!!!  No matter if it's a CD or an MP3 recording, it's a "tape" to him!  Hehehehe...  I make fun of him ALL the time!:)  Anyway, all this to say.... today I did a VHS of Billy Blanks Taebo!!!  It was the Advanced version, a 60 minute workout!  I cut out at the cool down, so I actually did about 55 minutes or so!  It was a great workout!... And Thursday (kind of!)</title><content type='html'>Well, despite no post for the past two days, I did actually work out!  (Well, Wednesday anyway...)  I totally forgot that Shane meets with a couple of guys on Wed. mornings and leaves around 5:30am!  So, there is NO going to the Y for me on Wednesdays!!  I think we will be moving our Y schedule to Monday, Tuesday and Friday!... So, Tuesday, I totally didn't work out!  BLAH!...  But Wednesday I decided I just couldn't let another day go by!  So, I tried every DVD I had until I found one that would work WITHOUT a remote!!!!!!!!  I mean, it's amazing to me that our DVD player will NOT move the little arrow and let you choose options without a darn remote!!!  Anyway.... I ended up doing a Denise Austin Pilates/Yoga video!  I did a 20 minute Pilates workout followed by a 20 minute Pilates/Yoga workout!  So, it was a pretty good workout!  Say what you will about the corny Denise Austin!  That girl is one tough cookie and STRONG!!!!  I just wish she wouldn't TALK!:)  So, today I have not worked out &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;YET!!  &lt;/span&gt;But the third of my three children will be laying down for his nap RIGHT NOW, and then I'll get to it! We Made It To The Y!!!!!!!</title><content type='html'>&lt;div style="text-align: center;"&gt;Yes, it's true.... I can hardly believe it, and I definitely did NOT want to get up at 4:45 am this morning!!!!  But I'm SOOO glad I did!!!....  Alexis and I have had to adjust our schedule a bit with school starting, and here's what we've come up with: Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings we will be going to the Y.  On the other days, we'll try to workout on our own (which has been REALLY hard for both of us!)  But priorities have to shift a little right now, and getting up every morning at 4:45 am, for this season in my life, is just NOT possible!!  So, we'll attempt three mornings a week and see how that goes!  I'm hoping to get some sort of workout in on the Tuesdays and Thursdays as well!...  We'll just see how things go!...&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: center;"&gt;Oh, and a HUGE update!!!!  (I'm still not ready to post my &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;actual&lt;/span&gt; weight... I just can't...  I'm ridiculous, I know!)  But all of the sudden I am down 13 lbs.!!!!!!!  I was SO excited!! I can tell my body is changing, but the scale has NOT been moving!... Until recently.  At first, there was a 5 lb. difference or so, then an 8 lb. difference... I guess I didn't think them noteworthy enough because I wanted to wait until they were really consistent for a long period of time!...  (You know, water and different times of the day can all play a part in a few pound difference from day to day or hour to hour, etc.)  Well, I have fairly consistently been down 10 lbs. now, but for some reason, I guess I wasn't as excited as I should have been!  (I have really been wanting the scale to move MUCH faster than it has been!)  However, lastnight I jumped on the scale just after my husband got off, bragging to him that I had been down 10 lbs. lately, and I wanted to show him.... Well, to my utter surprise I was down another THREE POUNDS!!!  That makes 13 total!!!!  I was &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;thrilled&lt;/span&gt; with this, for some reason, and wanted to share!... "Blah!..."  That's how I have felt ALL day!!  Today was SUCH a busy day too!...  First, we had an appointment this morning at 8:15, and by the time we got home we were hungry and already worn out!  Then, this afternoon, our cousins came over--all FIVE of them!!!!  So, we had a busy, exciting afternoon!!!  Then we had Z's open house for preschool tonight!!  It was fun--watching him get ready for it and be SO excited was all worth it!!  I knew if I did not get up early this morning to work out there was NO way I would fit a workout in!... Well, when I woke up this morning it was already too late!... So, it is now 10:10pm, and I have yet to workout today!... So, another unsuccessful day!  But tomorrow is another day!  And next week is a new week!!!....  I've been trying to decide how I'm going to workout tomorrow--I think I'll do it at home again... Next week, my goal will be to get to the Y three times--I think that might be do-able for this semester.  Then do two days at home in between.... I had a test and some school stuff to take care of this morning, and it all started early enough that I knew I couldn't go the Y... Well, my two youngest kiddos had other plans and were up (at pretty much the same time) in the night and needed some special attention!  So, needless to say, my nights sleep was interrupted and insufficient for getting up too early this morning... (At least that's what I told myself....) I have been toying with the idea of getting a quick run in after the kids go to bed.... But hubby and I have some things to get done this evening, so I'm not sure that will happen!.... (Excuse me while I hold back my tears....)  Anyway, this morning I was unable to go the Y because my husband had to work SUPER early!  So, I went all day wondering how I was going to workout!.... Then, after finding some motivation from &lt;a href="http://allpain-nogain.blogspot.com/"&gt;Sarah &lt;/a&gt;I decided I just needed to do something!  Not too long ago, I purchased a Jillian Michaels DVD and book.  It was all a little more overwhelming for me than I anticipated, and then when I worked things out with Alexis--my PT--I didn't really think about it again!.... Well, it crossed my mind today that it might just be what I needed right now!  So, I pulled out Jillian's &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;Thirty Day Shred&lt;/span&gt; DVD and did Level 2.  It was a pretty good workout, especially for being only 20 minutes!  It was definitely better than doing nothing at all!!....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div style="text-align: center;"&gt;And my four year old took some pics of me!... I've been thinking that I need to make this blog a little more interesting... So, here you go! Maybe because I didn't even set my alarm!  That's right, I didn't even attempt to get up and workout!  I admit it!... I don't know how &lt;a href="http://www.allpain-nogain.blogspot.com"&gt;Sarah&lt;/a&gt;&lt;br /&gt;does it!!!!....  She's amazing!... Anyway, I did do an ab workout in the afternoon, while my kiddos were in the same room... I know, some of you are laughing just imagining it--from your own experience, I'm sure!...  Yes, P, my daughter, was climbing on my stomach, or rather, JUMPING on it!  And then, I tried some push-ups, and of course, she wanted to add 32 lbs. (which I was unable to do!)  So, I got a pretty good ab workout but have NOT been doing well on my diet this week!  So, this weekend my goal is to really watch my diet and try to get my mind back "into it" to have a good week this next week working out!!!!  Two more weeks before I start classes--so, I want to do well!!!! Lexy and I were both VERY excited about that!.... Well, at 5 am how excited can you really be... But we both admitted that neither one of us would have gotten a workout in if not for the other!  Accountability is SO much a part of being disciplined, faithful and successful in things!!  (What a good testimony to apply to other areas of my life--for instance, spiritual matters, which are more important by far!!!)  Since we had taken the past three days off, and Lexy will be out of town tomorrow, we did a cardio day today (with some abs at the end, of course!)  So, we did about 45 minutes of cardio.  I chose treadmill for 25 minutes and elliptical for 20.  I just read something on the elliptical this morning, that it's good for people with knee problems, especially, because it's easier on the joints than a treadmill.  Also, when you add the upper body--if the machine has handle bars to work with--it's a great workout!... The machine I used actually did &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;not &lt;/span&gt;have the handle bars, but it was still a good article that I read!:)  Anyway, I'm going to try and do something at home in the a.m.  I'm thankful we got a good workout today!!!!....  Oh, another thing.... first, I will admit I don't have much authority to speak on this, but just wanted to throw it out there.... Have you ever thought about what makes our bodies do what they're supposed to do?... You know, digest food properly, excrete it, use it for energy, etc.  I know there are many different theories and ways to help, but something I've found &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;most &lt;/span&gt;successful in this particular area of my life is consistently drinking a TON of water (well, try 2-3 32 oz. nalgenes full---so, 64 to 96 oz. at least!).  And exercising is something else that keeps the body on track!!!  Just by getting back on track today, sparing the raw details, I've already felt my body getting back to normal and my systems all in working order!...  (SO SORRY if this is weirding anyone out!:)  Anyway, just something I was thinking about and wondered if anyone else had experienced these kinds of things or had any other input.... I'm not fasting this morning, but still searching a little... I just felt I needed another day off from the Y.  Yesterday was a fasting day, and though the first day (Monday) I felt like God was answering my prayers before my eyes, Tuesday was a little different.... I'm trying to stay open because one of my prayers has been that I would SEE God where He's working and HEAR Him when He speaks!.... Often, I've found, that God was really there all along (as I KNOW that He is)--but sometimes the struggle helps us to see things more clearly in the end!.... So, I'm not discouraged, just still searching a little.....  But I do feel rejuvenated!.... So, that is good....  My good 'ol PT is going out of town tomorrow, so we may be able to get a morning workout in before she heads out, but I'll have to check on that!  If not, I will most likely do something on my own for Thursday and Friday!  While going to the Y always helps because of the atmosphere, I may decide to conserve a little gas and time and just do something at home... We'll see.... And I'll keep you posted!....  Oh, and I've been inspired by a friend to most likely add some pics of my progress!!!.... My friend Sarah started a weight loss blog as well, and upon checking it out I was totally impressed with all the creativity and pictures and stuff!!!! I was sitting at the lat pull down, and there was a man behind me (at some other machine, not sure what) who was making SO much noise while he was doing his exercise!  It wasn't just a hard breathing kinda thing.  No, no, it was more like a hurl--like he was trying to throw up--with a little gruff, growl sort of noise mixed in!  It was all I could do not to turn around to see what in the WORLD was going on!....  But I refrained from doing so, and instead waited until he walked away to check things out....  I'm totally laughing about it now, but it almost kinda grossed me out, honestly....  Oh, 5am workouts and all the drama they bring!... We had visitors--my older brother, sister-in-law and two daughters!!!  So, Tuesday was busy cleaning and getting ready!....  I knew we'd be up late, so I cancelled for Wednesday ahead of time....  But we'll be back at it tomorrow! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Alexis and I have both been tired this week!!  I feel I'm still trying to catch up from traveling, and Alexis has finals this week for her summer class (Microbiology)!  So, we had a good workout, but we started out tired yesterday!.... We did cardio for 45 minutes, then speed work (sprints) with push-ups and crunches in between.  Then we finished up with some ab work at the end!  Good workout!! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Oh yeah, I also was involved in a plank contest lastnight with my brother, niece and Shane!!  Brian won (barely)!!!  But I gave him a good run for his victory!  It was Shane's first time doing a plank, but he did GREAT! We talked about going to the Y this afternoon together, but I decided to run at home after Shane got off work... So, I went out at 5:15 or so (yes, the hottest time of the day!) and ran....  It was SO STINKING HOT!!!!!!!!!!!...  So, I ran a little over a mile...  I felt I could have done another mile, but it was WAY too hot!  So, I did some ab work before calling it quits.... I think everything has finally caught up with me!.... I did wake up, and in all honesty, I could have gone to the Y to workout!  However, I knew I would be useless the rest of the day.... These are the times when my priorities &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;HAVE &lt;/span&gt;to stay in line!!!  Is it better that I get my workout in for the day or that I am more rested for my family?!....  Today was NOT one of those days when a workout (at 5am) would give me &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;more &lt;/span&gt;energy--you know what I mean??!!....  I was confident I would have only been trashed for the day!....  So, my choice was to sleep for another two hours or so, and if I get a chance, maybe workout somehow at home.   But no matter what, I'll be ready to get back to the Y tomorrow!!!!....  On days like this, I make sure I still drink plenty of water, and I watch my food intake extra close!.... While traveling, I did actually work out two days (which I feel is better than &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;none&lt;/span&gt;!)  Anyway, I'm not sure if it was due to the time of day, the fact that I was working out alone or that it was in my dad's basement (and not at the Y), but I had a really hard time running my usual limit!  I had to cut it short both days!  I still felt I got a good work out, but was worried that I had let too many days go by without running and was losing my stamina..... Well, now that I'm back at it with Alexis--at the Y and first thing in the morning--I am back to running!!!!!  Yesterday and today were good workouts--arms then legs.  So, tomorrow is a full cardio day--we'll see how that goes!  We'll be doing, most likely, one hour of cardio!!  I'm hoping I can hang with that!!!....  I'm glad to be back at it.  I'll admit I'm &lt;span style="font-style: italic;"&gt;tired!!!!  &lt;/span&gt;Hoping to get some good rest tonight! I did do a little (very little) bit of dancing w/ the kiddos yesterday.... So, at least got my heart rate up a little... maybe.... Anyway, today was "leg day."  That's always a hard day!!!  We do an ungodly amount of lunges and another hamstring workout that KILLS me!!!!  We also did some CRAZY abs today!!  We did THREE one minute planks!!! AAAHHHH!!!  (I did 45 seconds for the last two!)  Anyway, a GREAT workout!!  The traveling begins tomorrow... We won't be working out in the morning, so I'll have to be extra watchful of eating and try my best to find ways to workout while we're gone! BUT the day is NOT over yet!!!  i'm going to try and do some sort of workout, even if it's just abs or something, this afternoon!..  lastnight was a rough night for me!  sleep just would not come and when it finally did, zion woke up and was awake for at least an hour!  then, i had a hard time going back to sleep again and didn't have that long until the alarm was to go off!... So, even though I think I could have gone to the Y and worked out, I still believe it was the best decision for both Alexis and me to skip this morning!....  She was pretty tired, and we may not have had that great of a workout and still been tired the rest of the week!  Plus, I knew if I went I would have been totally trashed the rest of the day for my family!!  So, now I think we'll still be able to finish the week with a couple of GOOD workouts and it will, in the end, be more productive!... &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;On a side note... I have been wanting to mention this and keep forgetting....  I think Alexis and I are officially "regulars" at the Y now!....  Lewis, at the front desk, always talks to us, and we're pretty sure he recognizes us each day--though he does see a LOT of people each day!!  But also, there's a guy (I think his name is Michael) that we see saying "good morning" to lots of people!  We have now been added to his list!  He will even go out of his way to say "good morning" to us!... He's an older gentleman and reminds me of my cousin Paul (who is MUCH younger!:) for some reason!... It was a cardio day with, of course, some abs!!  (We always do LOTS of really hard ab workouts!)  So, we split the cardio up a bit, which always helps me out!  I did three miles on the treadmill, and at this point, that takes me about 34 minutes.  Then did 11 minutes on the stairmaster (which i secretly HATE!... Well, I guess it's not really a secret.)  Anyway, then we did some great abs!!!  So, all in all, it was a good workout day!....&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Our first goal is approaching quickly and the week prior to it is going to be HARD!  I will be gone w/ my kiddos.  So, Alexis will be on her own to go to the Y, and I will be on my own to workout wherever and whenever I can!  We are going to call each other each night to check in--we're hoping that will give us some accountability and motivate us a little!!  Especially since our goal--Justin and Crystal's wedding--is almost HERE!!!  I can fit in the dress and the pants I was hoping to, but could use a little more wiggle room (esp. in the pants!).  So, we'll keep working hard this week and hopefully not miss a beat next week even though we won't be working out together, and I'll be away from home!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Goal this week for me:  really watch my food intake!!  Remember to.... eat in moderation, watch calories and fat, and quit when I'm satisfied NOT when I'm FULL!!!  And finally, I control what I eat, the food does NOT control me!!!... Man, I really STINK when I'm left on my own these days!  I don't know what I'll do if (or when) Alexis and I have to work out separately due to schedules or something!...  Hopefully, I'll be committed enough by then, and it will be at least because of habitual purposes, if nothing else!....  But I am going to watch my food intake today, at least!....  And I already know that tomorrow will not happen either because we have some friends stopping by (and my house will need some cleaning prior to that--which I will put off until tomorrow morning!:)&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;So, next week I am definitely going to do FIVE DAYS!!!  It just has to happen!  The following week will be tough because we will be traveling--so, there will be a mixture of exhaustion which lets my guard down, not to mention it's always harder when you're away from routine to make yourself do things like work out!... I'm taking shoes and work out gear with every intention of using them!!!!!  I should have access to the internet to post how all that is going while I'm gone...  Anyway, I would really like to have a GOOD week next week before being gone. &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I do have to put something out there....  One of the reasons I'm not wanting to post my weight is because even though my body has changed SO much in the last few months, my weight is still the same!!  It's CRAZY to me!!!  I know it's because I'm toning and gaining muscle--which weighs a LOT more than fat!  (I've heard it's as much as four times the fat!)  That explains why some people gain weight when they start to work out and are lifting weights.  We're doing strength training but not lifting a LOT so as to bulk up!  Just toning.... I'm hoping it will really start to burn the fat, and I'll begin seeing evidence of it on the scale SOON!!!  But I am at least happy because I can really tell a difference in my body, and I am wearing clothes I haven't been able to wear since before I was pregnant with Paige!!  (She's my second... After having Zion, my oldest, I was able to get quite a bit of the baby weight off before getting pregnant again.  So, that's a good goal for me right now!) &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;And one last thing.... A short term goal I have right now is to be able to wear this black dress I've had for a few years--wore it to my older brother's wedding!  I want to wear it to my brother-in-laws wedding in two weeks!!!  I can fit in it right now, but hopefully will look even better in two more weeks!!...  There is also a pair of capris I can get on and even zip and button, but they're a little tight still... Hoping those will fit so I can wear them in public SOON!  Those are just some short term goals I'm working toward right now.... &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Enough rambling for now.......  Happy 4th of July!! For many reasons over the years--Friday is the next day, for one!  I used to help lead a women's Bible study on Friday mornings that I always looked forward to all week...  and I guess, Thursday has always felt like the beginning of the weekend for me, or something!...  Well, today... Thursday... I am not particularly enjoying--at least as far as my work out goes!.....  Alexis and I still made it today--we went to the Y and worked out for over an hour!... But I just didn't have it this morning.  In fact, I've been struggling ALL week long with having the energy and motivation to push myself like I have in previous weeks.  I'm praying it's just a weird week, and now I've gotten it out of the way!  Anyway, this morning's work out was supposed to be cardio driven but light.  Well, mine was incredibly light!  In fact, I barely broke a sweat!!!  Now considering I don't think I've ever sweat so much in my life while I've been working out with Alexis, today was almost a blow-off day for me or something!...  But I will say this, I think it will motivate me to definitely work out on my own tomorrow--the Y is closed for the 4th and so we won't be going there tomorrow....  Now, as of late, when we are left to work out on our own, I have not been doing well... But I believe after such a light work out today that I will be quite motivated, if at all possible, to work out tomorrow on my own!!!!!!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I'm still not ready to record my weight for the world to know... But I was thinking of doing some pictures to watch my progress....  Also, I'm fitting into some clothes I haven't fit into for a LONG time! As some have said, putting it out there for the world to possibly view is, in some way, accountability!   Not to mention, more often than not, there will probably be more encouragement through this as well!.... So, here it is.... my work out blog!...  I have yet to decide if I'm going to publicize my actual weight--even though I'm calling this "weighing in."  I know, shoulda thought about that, right?!... Oh well, we'll just see how it goes.... &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;First of all, I'm not promising ANYTHING from this blog!!!  Some days I really have a desire to share my experience with working out and retraining my body!  I've been working SO hard, and I really just want others to be encouraged as well...  I suppose, I'm looking for some kind of community through all of this... There are plenty of people out there working hard and in the same place I am--so, I think we can encourage one another and learn from each other! &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Secondly, there are two people I need to thank right off the bat!!!....  First of all, my husband-Shane, for being SO supportive and encouraging!!  He gets up w/ the kiddos every morning--even when it's SO early--so that I can go to the Y and work out!  I love you more than words can say... And secondly, my sweet sister-in-law Alexis... you are amazing!!!  She is my personal trainer right now, and I feel abundantly blessed to have such a good friend and someone who encourages me and challenges me in MORE ways than just working out!  Love you, sis!:) &lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;Well, I'm not going to advertise this blog... at least, I don't think I am... I figure I'll mention it to a few, and then just see who happens upon it...  Again, I'm not promising much, but we'll see how it goes...  I figure I might even use this blog for other things besides just "getting fit" kinds of things!...  So, could be interesting...
