A Book Workout

Well, I bought the book Making the Cut by Jillian Michaels a loooonnnng time ago! And I read through it, and literally thought, "Yeah right!... I could not do this!" For one, I am so inexperienced in the gym that I had no idea what most of the exercises were and was even more clueless as far as the equipment she was speaking of. Well, now that I've gotten a lot more confident, and also have since realized (as my husband often tells me) no one in the gym really knows what they're doing! Plus, the ones that do aren't paying attention to you!

On that note, I decided I need to step things up a notch.... So, I broke the book back out! Well, I didn't go to a gym, so I had no reason to feel intimidated anyway. But the workouts themselves are pretty intense and can seem overwhelming. Today I did Day 1. It went pretty good.... I did have to cut out a few things on Circuit 3 because of time. But overall, I was able to do most of the exercises, making adjustments due to space and/or access to equipment. I will admit I couldn't do the exercises the way I'm sure Jillian would approve of, but I'll get there!

My friend Sarah at All Pain~No Gain has done these book workouts several times through! If you would like any further knowledge, especially about doing these at home--check it out!

All in all, I'm glad to have another day of working out!! It feels GREAT!!!

Can I just say that I am so proud of you for busting out that book again. The workouts are VERY intense and you do have to tweak some of them to be able to do them from home. But you can do the majority of them!

When I first started I could barely get through the workouts. I also started using 5 - 10 lbs weights. Now I do the moves with 15lbs. Also, I couldn't do more than 5 push ups in a row, and now I can do over 20.

It works - I promise, but you have to push yourself. You're having a fabulous week and I'm so proud of you! You're an inspiration.
